Calendly Free: simplest, but one event type

Calendly’s free plan includes one event type, one calendar connection, one-on-one scheduling, a customizable booking page and the browser extension. Paying with Stripe or PayPal at booking appears under the Standard plan.

When it works: you offer a single kind of meeting, like a “30-minute intro call,” and keep everything on one calendar.

When it doesn’t: you need a separate 15-minute check-in and a 60-minute session, or you need to check conflicts across a work and a personal calendar.

Cal.com Free: the most generous for individuals

Cal.com’s free plan is for one user and includes unlimited event types and calendar connections, email and SMS notifications, more than 100 app integrations, the mobile app and browser extension, Stripe and PayPal payments, and two-way Salesforce and HubSpot sync. It can also import your Calendly events in one click.

Cal.com’s feature table notes that custom workflows on the free plan are limited (“only templated workflows”). Team features like round-robin and collective events, plus removing Cal.com branding, start on the Teams plan at $12 per user per month billed yearly.

Pick Cal.com if: you’re a solo operator with several meeting types or several calendars.

TidyCal Free: good for paid sessions and packages

TidyCal’s free plan includes unlimited bookings and booking types, paid bookings, recurring and package bookings, discount codes, a digital storefront and your own booking page. It connects one calendar.

The fee to know about: TidyCal says payments on the Free plan “carry a 1% platform fee, on top of Stripe’s own processing fees.” Pro ($12/month, or $99/year) removes that fee. Paid upgrades also include one-time lifetime plans: Individual Lifetime ($29) and Agency Lifetime ($79), both sold through AppSumo.

Auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, group bookings and booking limits are not on the free plan.

Pick TidyCal if: you sell coaching packages or paid sessions and the 1% fee is acceptable. Its lifetime upgrade is the cheapest way to add more features later.

Bottom line

  • Multiple meeting types on $0: Cal.com or TidyCal.
  • Multiple calendars on $0: Cal.com, the only one of the three with unlimited calendar connections on the free plan.
  • One intro-call link and nothing else: any of them, and Calendly is fine.
